Dion Simmons Grier is a New York based Singer/Dancer/Actor. He was born raised in Rahway, New Jersey and has earned his BFA in Musical Theatre at Montclair State University. He has always had a huge passion for the performing arts. With many opportunities to do other things like sports, he has devoted all of his time to studying about theatre and continuing to strengthen his craft.
Dion discovered his passion at about age 13 when he began taking dance and acting classes, at that point he completely fell in love. He went on to perform in many cabarets, concert musicals, and main stage productions over the years, such as the Paper Mill Playhouse, Lincoln Center, and NJPAC. Dion enjoys dancing and choreographing intermediate tap and jazz combinations, hoping in the future to teach intermediate dancers. With 6 years of vocal education, he is a Bari-tenor with a focus on musical theatre, gospel, and classical genre. He booked his first job out of college as “Nicely Nicely” in Guys & Dollsand “Audrey II” in Little Shop of Horrorsat TheatreAspen. Some of his other interests include exercising, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Dion is very involved in his Christian faith and believes that through his passion in the performing arts, he will be impactful and inspire people with the testimony of his life. A scripture that he lives by is Galatians 6:9,“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
