Caleb James Grochalski was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised 45 minutes north of downtown on a fully operating beef cattle farm. His parents and grandparents both met while social dancing, so therefore they made it their mission to include it in his life. Everything changed after he attended a performance of Annie in downtown Pittsburgh. The idea of one person getting that much attention was intoxicating, and there was no turning back. He trained extensively in dance, acting, and voice at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School and obtained his BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. His artistic experience has been heavily influenced by a wide variety of teachers and mentors who worked for the greatest theatrical artists of all time: Jerome Robbins, Michael Bennett, and Bob Fosse. He makes it his personal artistic mission to carry on the legacy and intention of these great theatre makers and aspire to be as influential as they were.
Professionally, he has worked at notable regional theatres around the country including: Peterborough Players, Syracuse Stage, Maine State Music Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre, and STAGES St. Louis. He was also a proud member of the off-broadway company of “Seesaw” presented by the J2 Spotlight Musical Theatre company in its inaugural production. When not onstage, he is often found outside going on adventures and discovering new places or on a boat with his family!
