Sherena Medford

Sherena was born and raised in Queens, NY. She started dancing at her local dance studio at the age of 3 in a range of styles such as, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap. While dancing at a young age, Sherena immersed herself into acting, landing gigs with Kidz Bop and Qubo Scholastic commercials and also, modeling. Simply put, she has never been camera shy. As she got older, Sherena went on to attend LaGuardia Performing Arts High School and received intense training in ballet and various modern techniques such as, Graham and Horton. Moreover, at LaGuardia, she was introduced to the musical theater world and was able to partake in a few productions, such as, “In the Heights” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Sherena found love in both the classical and commercial world of dance so she moved on to continue her studies at Pace University as a Commercial Dance major. At Pace, she has gotten the opportunity to work with many choreographers such as, Rhonda Miller, Scott Jovovich, Sean McKnight, in addition to studying a semester in Los Angeles with Mandy Moore, Jennifer Hamilton, Dominique Kelley, and many more. While being in LA, she was cast in Cherice Barton’s Fosse tribute at the Soho Playhouse and was able to gain a lot of insights in the film industry with dance. Sherena is so grateful for all the connections she’s made in life and experiences she has shared with such talented artists. Every person she’s encountered has helped her become the dancer she is today. Recently, Sherena just finished working at an Equity Regional Theater on the production of On Your Feet! and can’t wait to continue performing whether it’s on Broadway or in TV/Film. Besides performing, Sherena has many interests and has taken up a minor in Sociology and Anthropology. People intrigue her hence why she loves working in the entertainment industry and she’s always open minded to new ideas and experiences. Sherena’s positive outlook on life shows through everything she does and she will continue to bring her positive energy in every room she’s in!
