Shelby Steele was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and after graduating from high school, moved to NYC where she continued her dance studies at the Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester program and Luam Keflezgy’s Rock the Industry.
She has performed at New York Fashion Week, the Vogue Pre-Met Gala, Capezio A.C.E Awards and Carnival Choreographer’s Ball, along with a multitude of other events, including being an assistant/understudy under the direction of Tessandra Chavez for NBC’s New Years Eve with Julianne Hough, and Industrial events with Tyce Diorio for ABC American Idol Upfronts and Derek Mitchell for Nintendo’s Launch Event with Jordan Fisher. Most recently, Shelby was a featured dancer on Dance On Network’s “Degree Dance All Day,” and played the lead of “Lola” in Six Flags New Jersey’s hit live show Dead Man’s Party. As a company member of AbstraKT Beings, she has also been featured in numerous performances and concept videos under the direction of Theresa Stone. Shelby is a hard-working professional who takes her career very seriously and for that reason, she consistently seeks out and works with some of the biggest choreographers in the industry including: Theresa Stone, Luam Keflezgy, Tessandra Chavez, Brian Friedman, Candace Brown, Keenan Cooks, Ryan Miller, Jessica Castro and Marcus Cobb.
In addition to a career in dancing, Shelby also works as a choreogapher and assistant, choreographing numerous award winning solo, duo and group routines for studios in Washington, Iowa and Arizona. Assisting Theresa Stone at various conventions, workshops and studios throughout the US, Singapore and Argentina has given her the opportunity to grow as both a student and teacher, as well as the opportunity to connect with other outstanding professionals in the dance world.
