Megan McLaughlin was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She began dancing at the age of four and hasn’t stopped since. She was raised on classic movie musicals and would act out shows such as Oklahoma! and The Phantom of the Opera from her living room stairs. Megan carried this passion for the arts to Oklahoma City University where she trained in dance, voice, and acting. After graduating with a BFA in Dance Performance, she moved to New York City to continue chasing her dreams.
Megan has had the opportunity to work regionally at some wonderful theatres, such as Ogunquit Playhouse, The Rev (Merry-Go- Round Playhouse), The John Engeman Theatre, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, and The Lexington Theatre Company.
A great highlight of Megan’s career has been joining the national tours of 42nd Street and Elf the Musical where she was able to perform close to her hometown. Working with people like Randy Skinner, Richard J. Hinds, Parker Esse, and Mary Giattino has helped her grow immensely and they have really shaped her career.
Megan enjoys other facets of the dance world including teaching dance and adjudicating dance competitions in various cities. When not dancing Megan can be found spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys anything to do with nature, especially rock climbing and hiking. Megan has a love for adventure and she can’t wait to see what adventures are ahead in this great city!
