Kristen Murphy was born on Long Island, New York. She began training gymnastics, ballet, and musical theater when she was two years old. By five, she was studying all of the disciplines including; tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater, and later began training in contemporary. When Kristen turned twelve she was training under the direction of Theresa Stone and Kyle Preiser through the company Abstrakt Beings. When not training with them on Long Island, Kristen could be found at Broadway Dance Center or Five Star Sports Academy where she developed her passion for tumbling, tricking, break-dancing and parkour. She then attended Saint Anthony's High School, where she was Captain of the School's Varsity Cheerleading team for two years, while training in Ant Boogie's hip-hop company, Urban Dance League; there she won the 2015 "Rookie of the Year" and "Most Valuable Dancer." Kristen has also acted, danced, sung, and flipped in over fifty regional musicals throughout the state including starring every year since she was 11 years old at NYCB Theatre at Westbury Music Fair. Her vocal training has allowed her to perform solos in venues such as; Madison Square Garden, The Prudential Center, and Carnegie Hall. My first big job landed in my lap, the production company creating the Adidas Commercial contacted me through referral of one of their principal athletes! I've been fortunate enough to train with some very special people who have impacted my training along with my mind, these people would be; Brian Green, Abstrak, Jason Ng, and my vocal coach Dr. Talonda Thomas. The best saying that my mom has drilled into me since I could speak was, "The harder you work, the luckier you get."
