Kira Chu started dancing on Long Island when she was two years old. She trained in many styles including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. When she was 15 years old she made the transition to the commercial dance world training at all the top studios in New York City. She credits her mentors and original hip hop teachers, SamO Soto, and Marcus Allan Cobb for giving her a strong foundation and the direction and discipline to work hard for her dreams.
Kira is a member of AbstraKT Beings, the Company, under the direction of Theresa Stone. She has performed with them at many prestigious events in NYC including the A.C.E. Capezio Awards, The Main Event, and the Carnival Choreographer’s Ball with Todrick Hall. Kira has had the privilege to assist Theresa at many conventions and events all around the country and is extremely grateful for her guidance.
Some of Kira’s recent credits include the Jonas Brothers “Only Human” music video choreographed by Tanisha Scott, Fosse/Verdon on Fx choreographed by Susan Misner, Toyota Japan commercial choreographed by Tanisha Scott, and Google-YouTube Executive’s Conference with Matt Steffanina. Kira is a hard working, determined, and dedicated professional and she is ready for whatever is thrown her way.
