Charlotte McKinley was born in New Orleans, Louisiana but raised in Austin, Texas. From a young age, her mom noticed her impeccable energy and decided to enroll in dance at the age of 4. She grew up dancing at her local studio, Joyce Willett School of dance under the direction of Kim Willett. She instilled discipline in her at a young age. During her high school years, she attended McCallum High School Fine Arts academy where she studied dance, music, acting and singing. She transferred studios to The Dance Spot training with the elite competition company Rise dance Company owned by Quinton Weathers. There she trained in all styles including contemporary, tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop and theatre.
After graduating high school, Charlotte attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City. She trained in all styles of dance as well as singing and acting. During her fourth semester, she booked “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” at Walt Disney World as well as a cruise contract with Norwegian Cruise Line. A majority of her 2017 was spent traveling around Europe where she visited 26 countries in total!
After her contract, she came back to New York to do Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester where she had the pleasure to train under Shirlene Quigley, Jessica Castro, Martha Nicols, Candace Brown, Luam, Emily Greenwell, Slam, Chio and Sheila Barker to name a few. Shortly after the program, she attended Jessica Castro’s heels intensive, Lipstick Diaries, where she learned many valuable skills that she uses everyday in life.
When she’s not performing you can find Charlotte playing her ukulele and making and editing her own music videos. She is excited to have joined her dream talent agency since she was 14 years old and is very grateful for all the opportunities to come! Here is a quote that resonates with her: “be somebody that makes everyone feel like a somebody”.
