Brittney Dunbar is a native from Brooklyn, New York. Growing up, she always had a strong passion for dance. She began her dance training at the age of thirteen years old at the Harlem School of the Arts. During her training at the Harlem School of the Arts, she was enrolled into Talent Unlimited High School for the Performing Arts in New York City. While completing her senior year of High School, she joined Alvin Ailey’s Junior Division program. A year later, she was accepted to the University of the Arts. At the University of she has worked with artists such as Sidra Bell, Mark Caserta, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Gary Jeter, Ronen Koresh, and Douglas Becker. In 2012, she attended Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts and participated in Life Dance Company’s workshop to work with Matthew Rushing. In the summer of 2014 Ms. Dunbar was awarded a full scholarship to study at Alonzo Kings Lines Ballet Summer Intensive in San Francisco. After receiving her BFA in dance performance from the University of the Arts, continued to widen her vocabulary in dance. In 2017, Brittney joined a Hip-Hop team known as Creative Reaction. Creative Reaction has competed in major dance competitions such as World of Dance, East Coast Dance Competition, Topline Dance competition and Jaquel Knight’s Dance Showdown.In 2019, Creative Reaction won Jaquel Kinght’s first Dance Showdown competition. As winners of the competition, they were awarded the opportunity to perform at Something in the Water Music Festival with Pharrell Williams. She has also worked and performed with artists such as Cece Peniston, Jazmine Sullivan and Darius Rucker. Brittney is a highly motivated dancer who is determined to become the best version of herself. She aspires to use her talent to inspire all artists to follow their dreams.
