Alexis was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. She started taking dance classes at the age of twelve and continued her dance training while pursuing an accounting degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and teaching at her hometown dance studio. While in college she developed a love of traveling during a summer study abroad program. She landed her first big job as a member of the Charlotte Hornets NBA dance team, the HoneyBees. She remained a member on the dance team for two seasons. Following graduation, she decided to auditon for the Brooklyn Nets NBA dance team in hopes of moving to New York and pursuing her dance career farther. One week after being announced a 2018- 2019 Brooklynette she moved to New York City. Alexis’ love of dance would not have been harvested without the influence of her cousin, Jordan Rafko. Jordan was the driving factor in enrolling Alexis in dance and has helped her along the way all while pursuing her own dance career. Alexis lives by the motto “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”, which has helped her maintain a strong and upbeat attitude while reaching for her dreams.
