Sky Hoffmann is most known for having performed along side superstars for over two decades and for breaking ground as one of the first Asian Americans to achieve such levels as a commercial dancer. From his first nationally televised performance with the Spice Girls in 1997, to the halftime performance with Justin Timberlake at Super Bowl LII in 2018, Sky has stood as one of the most sought after commercial dance performing artists of his generation. Distinct in his position due to his vast credits within the music industry as a backup dancer, Sky has also been featured in numerous movies, television shows, national commercials and live shows. Regarded as an approachable, supportive and passionate creative, Sky is also an accomplished choreographer, movement coach and teaching artist.
Sky Hoffmann’s choreography and movement stylings have been featured on NBC hit show Community, on world tours with international super star Jin Akanishi, CBS promos with A-list actors, MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and clothing brands GAP and NIKE. As a stage performance and movement coach, Sky has worked with pop idol Paula Abdul, news anchors Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper and legendary comedian Robert Klein along with others like YouTube sweetheart Megan Nicole, 90’s grunge band Everclear and jazz crooner James Torme. Other notable celebrities Sky has worked with include actors Donald Glover, Kaley Cuoco, Will Forte, Joel McHale, Johnny Galecki and Dr Ken Jeong. His more recent coaching and choreography work includes International EDM producer/DJ Martin Garrix, super star Dua Lipa, a Motown tribute with boy band “4th Ave” at the world famous Apollo Theater, “Cray-Z-Art” national commercial, and CNN promo “The Movies”. Sky’s long list of dance gigs include working with such pop icons as Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Pink, Camila Cabello, Britney Spears, Keith Urban, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Will.i.am,

Having had been a faculty teacher for numerous years for such world renowned studios as the Millennium, Debbie Reynolds and The Edge in Hollywood, California, Sky has also traveled the world to over 25 countries, teaching his choreography, sharing his experiences and dance industry insights to such well known dance schools as Pineapple Dance Studios in London and the Paris Opera Ballet, along with many more.
Humbled and honored to be part of and contribute to the dance community and its grand history, Sky credits the “shoulders of giants” he has stood upon for decades. With heavy influences of twentieth century tap, pop and martial arts idols and having been taught personally by pioneers of various street dance styles, Sky’s mission now remains as it always has, to aid and uplift new and established performers of all ages and backgrounds.
