Gerald "Guapo" Clarke.

Gerald ‘Guapo’ Clarke was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica; where his dance style has been influenced by his Latin culture. At a very early age, he started his dancing career as a Latin ballroom dancer where he had the opportunity to compete and perform all over the country. At the age of 12, he then moved to the United States. As a teen he professionally trained at Shaker Dance Academy, where he was able to expand his technical training as well as his acting abilities. While in high school he showcased his talents in numerous traveling off Broadway plays, as well as dancing for the Cleveland Cavaliers Scream Team during the half time shows. Guapo graduated high school with honors and was named the most outstanding student in the art department. He moved to New York after high school and graduated from The Art Institute of New York City with a major in graphic design and minor in fashion merchandise.  After graduating from college he expanded his dance range by training at Broadway Dance Center, Steps and Alvin Ailey under choreographers like  Luam, Rhapsody, Sheryl Murakami, Dereck Mitchel, Tweetie and more.   

Guapo's hard work and dedication has  given him the opportunity to dance and work with artist such as Jay-Z, Omarion, Rihanna, Neyo, Swizz Beatz and more. He has worked on  national and international campaigns for Coach, Pepsi, Nokia, New Era, Dr.Pepper, Hasbro, Disney/Pixar just to name a few. He has also worked in TV and film projects such as Step Up 3D, Ugly Betty, The Good Wife, and more. He has instructed classes since the early age of 15 and presently teaches in NYC at Steps and DNA. When he is not in NY, you’re able to see him teaching classes and workshops in different cities. Currently you're able to catch him performing over seas with Lil Kim on the Australia leg of her Black Friday World Tour. Guapo is strong believer that as long as he puts his faith and desires in God everything will be added on to him. He often says, “I’m so thankful yet excited about all of my blessings, because I know this is only the beginning!”
