Taylor Brauer

Taylor Dawn Brauer has wanted to pursue musical theatre ever since she learned she shared the same middle name of her favorite (and first) Glinda in the famous musical that pioneered her through the seventh grade. It didn't hurt that her mom was an opera singer for Arizona Opera Company, so the music was all around her. She rigorously studied on-camera acting, ballet, and classical/contemporary voice throughout high school and musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College, where she'll graduate in the Spring of 2017.

Recently, she finished her first summer of summer stock playing Adelaide in Guys & Dolls in the beautiful town of Woodstock, New York. She can't wait to continue her streak of classical musicals in the spring when she'll perform as Lois Lane in Kiss Me Kate on the Mainstage at Marymount Manhattan College. Her most interesting yet exciting role was playing a bloodsucking sexy Vampire Woman in Dracula in the spring of 2016, right after completing a run of Wendla in the play version of Spring Awakening.

Moving from Scottsdale, Arizona to New York City was like going from the desert to the tundra (wait, it actually was that drastic), but she wouldn't change her decision for the world. When she's not slaving away in a practice room, she loves seeing unique live theatre, reading any Cormac McCarthy novel, and taking photos for her headshot business.

Her father has engrained this into her, and she's forever grateful: "Risk. Fail. Risk again."
