PHILIP COLGAN is a performer, choreographer, and teacher, born and raised in New York. After winning an on-stage dance contest at the Broadway revival of Grease in the 90s, and then having to copy every single thing his sister did growing up, Philip started dancing at the age of 7, and fortunately, has never stopped.
Philip has a B.A. from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where created his own major and studied both theater production and performance. His favorite regional credits include productions at Paper Mill Playhouse, Ogunquit Playhouse, Gateway Playhouse, and Finger Lakes Music Theater Festival. Other favorite credits include performances with America’s Got Talent finalist iLuminate: Artist of Light, The Michael Jackson Funeral Broadcast, and The 2014 Gypsy of the Year at the New Amsterdam Theater.
As a creator, Philip’s work has been featured in short films, at showcases like The Young Choreographer’s Festival at Symphony Space NYC, and, most recently, at the Skirball Center for the Arts, where he directed and choreographed the New York return of the musical adaptation of Catch Me If You Can in April 2015.
Philip is lucky enough to also teach around the country while actively pursuing his career in theater and dance. For more information, visit www.PhilipColganOnline.com.
