Originally from Chicago, Karen has performed/taught/choreographed all over the world. After attending Millikin University, she moved to New York City and almost immediately left to tour Europe with Grease das Musical. It was here where she met her longtime friend, and now agent, the incomparable Jim Daly.
While living in New York, Karen left to perform at dozens of regional theatres including Sacramento Music Circus, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Geva Theatre, Maine State Music Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Gateway Playhouse, St Louis Repertory Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre and even a couple months with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She toured with the first national tours of White Christmas, and Billy Elliot. It was on Billy Elliot where she discovered her love of swinging, and rediscovered her love of teaching/working with children. She left the road when Broadway FINALLY called! She was cast as the swing in the original cast of Ghost, which led to becoming the swing/dance captain of the original company of Scandalous.
Since then Karen has performed at the Connelly Theatre, and was part of the critically acclaimed production of On the Town at Barrington Stage, choreographed by Josh Bergasse and directed by John Rando. Next up, the national tour of Elf!
