Aurelia Michael

Aurelia Michael was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where she began her dance training at the Dance Theatre of Harlem. She continued studying dance throughout college at the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as founded the UMD dance company Dynamic. She was a member of Culture Shock Dance Troupe DC for four years, performing nationwide and internationally, and in that time earned the opportunity to perform with the world-renowned Cirque Du Soleil.

    Aurelia is a graduate of the Broadway Dance Center Internship program, as well as the Motivating Excellence Mentoring Program under the direction of Rhapsody James. Since her return to New York, Aurelia has performed for BET Black Girls Rock with Janelle Monae, Xbox 360, Mattel, Hulu Original: East Los High, a Regional Production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, and has worked with and judged the girls of Abby Lee’s Dance Studio from the hit TV Show “Dance Moms.”  She has also completed her first international tour in Ireland with the show “Every Little Step.”

    Aurelia has had blessed opportunities to teach all around the country, as well as internationally. She has also assisted choreographers in Mexico and Peru, as well as assisting with several artists including Alicia Keys and Carly Rae Jepsen.
