Abby Church

Abby was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI where she spent her childhood dancing, singing, playing numerous instruments, and following around her big sisters. She then attended Ithaca College where she received extensive training in both classical and contemporary acting.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Acting.
Abby made her Broadway debut in the fall of 2009 in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, directed by Walter Bobbie with choreography by Randy Skinner.  She performed in the female ensemble and understudied the “Best Things” Quintet.
Immediately following this production, Abby packed up and moved to Chicago to perform the role of Lesley in the First National Tour of Billy Elliot.  As a part of the original touring cast, Abby had the great fortune to work with Oscar-nominated & Tony award-winning director Stephen Daldry, and Tony award-winning choreographer Peter Darling.
Abby returned to Broadway in January of 2012 as a replacement in the hit revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, starring Nick Jonas and Beau Bridges (with direction and choreography by Rob Ashford).  She played Kathy and had a feature as a “Scrubwoman”, and she understudied the lead role of Rosemary.  This is her largest role to date.  Abby also had the pleasure to perform some of the Rosemary material at the annual Broadway Understudies concert at the Lion Theatre.
Upon the closing of How to Succeed...Abby moved down the street a few blocks to the Irish Repertory Theatre to perform in the revival of New Girl in Town. It was her Off-Broadway debut and she played the role of Pansy. Abby closed out 2012 by revisiting Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, this time in the national tour playing the role of Rita.  She had the pleasure of performing in numerous cities, most notably at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Abby made her City Center Encores! debut in 2013 with On Your Toes, which was directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle.  The show starred Karen Ziemba, Randy Skinner, Christine Baranski, Walter Bobbie, Shonn Wiley, Irina Dvorovenko, and Joaquin De Luz.  She played the role of Lola, was featured in the tap ensemble, and even got to use her French Horn skills.
Abby’s regional theatre credits include work at the Hangar Theatre, Kitchen Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Houston Theatre Under the Stars, and Atlanta Theatre of the Stars.  She also toured Asia with Troika’s 42nd Street.  In New York, Abby played the role of Maize in a staged reading of Babes in Arms, starring Rosie O’Donnell and Shuler Hensley.  Babes in Arms was directed & choreographed by Randy Skinner.
Her television work includes a feature on Nickelodeon Jr.‘s Team Umizoomi, and her commercials include principal roles in ads for Hood Ice Cream, Dunkin Donuts, Microsoft/Go-Daddy, and OK Cable.
