Vianka Winborne

started dancing and performing my first year at Valley High School. I mainly learned the Jazz technique and also studied theatre. When I moved back to New York, I continued my training in Jazz, Modern and Ballet when I got into Dr. Susan S. McKinney Secondary School of the Arts (SSA) with Zakiya Harris. She took me under her wing and brought me into her dance school Asase Yaa School Of The Arts on scholarship. Where I got introduced to dance styles such as West Aftican, Tap and my favorites Hiphop and Contemporary. I continued dancing at Asase Yaa when I graduated and move on to college at Kingsborough Community College where I focused on acting. My first big job was shooting a wrap for MTVs Summer Style With Becky G. My friend tagged me in a post on Facebook where they were looking for Models and I sent in some photographs and they asked me to come in for an audition. I was asked to act with total strangers on the spot and make them believe they were my best friend. I did so and they booked me. My first big dance job came through a choreographer name David "Sincere" Aiken. He called me up and told to to be at a rehearsal the next day for Lil Mamas "Sausage" music video. I went, learned the dance and Lil Mama and David pick the main dancers for the video right on the spot. I was chosen and the video was shot two days later. One day I want to grant someone that huge opportunity that may be the break to their careers. My interests out of performing are teaching others how to dance, perform and be the best person they can be. My dance teacher Zakiya Harris influenced me and always pushed me. She never allowed me to make excuses for my dancing because of my lack of dance experience. She always encouraged and supported me, granted me opportunities and always made sure I danced to the absolute best of my abilities, no less. My church family always supported me and always helped me maintain a positive outlook on everything. They really helped me learn how to deal with how harsh the industry and society can be and how to remain positive through it all. My favorite saying got me through it all.

Disappointments are God's ways of saying: "I've got something better". Be patient, live life, Have Faith.
