Tyler Zydel

I was born in Phoneixville, PA and started my dance training at the age of 15 in Pittsburgh after I saw Jakob Karr on Fox TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance” and wanted to dance like him.  I trained at Elite Dance by Damian for three years before heading to the University of Arizona in Tucson to receive a BFA in dance, specializing in ballet, modern, and jazz.  In 2018, my senior year, I flew to New York City to audition for the ensemble of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.  I got the call for the job a few months later and moved to New York after graduating to pursue my career in dance.  I would have not gotten where I am today without the wisdom from the faculty at my university and my friends to push me outside of my comfort zone in order to enhance my artistry.  When I am not performing, I love to take class as often as I can, and when I am not dancing, I like to hang out with my friends and explore the city.  My mantra in life is, “Live life glass half full.”  I try to find the best in every situation and to make the best out of any moment.
