Troi Davis



Troi D. was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She began her training at the age of 9 at a local studio,
D'shay School of Dance. At the age of 13 she began her technical training at The Pointe Dance Studio, under the direction of Cherrell Chestang. As well as being a member of Straight to the Pointe Dance Company. Having the opportunity to work with Christopher Huggins, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Mark Caserta, and LaMar Baylor amongst others. She is a former member of (PHILADANCO) D 3 and Eleone Connection where she served as (dance captain) under the direction of Shawn Lamere Williams and Wayne St. David. While now living in New York she currently furthering her Hip Hop training with Urban Dance League under the direction of Ant Boogie, serving as team captain. Troi has also had the pleasure of working with choreographers: Anthony Burrell and Dj Smart. She has also performed in several  IABD (International Association of Blacks in Dance) Conferences around the world. Troi is now in her junior year at  St. John's University studying Marketing with a minor in Fashion. Her hobbies outside of dance consist of fashion styling and interior design. During her first season of Urban dance league Ant boogie casted her for the BET 106@Park “ Urban Dance League competition.” Troi lead her team to the finals, winning the entire Competition and getting the MVD (most valuable dancer) award and scholarship to BDC. Anthony Burrell influences her dance career a great deal. He is a huge inspiration for her coming from Philadelphia and succeeding in both concert and commercial dance. Troi has lost touch with concert dance since she has moved to New York City but still aspires to get back. a quote Troi lives by is: "you don't have to be the best, but you must be smart."
