Samuel Javier

Sam was Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. He grew up idolizing artists such as Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. He regularly watched shows like America’s Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance, which helped further his interest. Although he was always attracted to dance, his true passion for dance didn’t begin until high school when he was introduced to street styles such as Jersey Club. In college, he went on to join a hip-hop dance team at Rutgers University called RAPS Dance Troupe (RDT). Here, he spent years training in foundational styles, freestyling, and performing in competitions across the East Coast. He originally took up dance as a hobby, but it rapidly became a principal part of his life once he fell in love with different street styles and the overall dance culture. After two years, Sam became a director of RAPS Dance Troupe and led his team to a first place victory at Prelude East Coast Dance Competition.
During his time in college, he was recruited by Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience. Here, he greatly improved upon his stage experience and traveled across the country for shows. Off the stage, Sam enjoys making and listening to music, fashion design, and playing many sports including basketball, soccer, and martial arts. Dancing wasn’t something Sam had considered earlier in his youth, but now cannot picture his life without it. Not only has he found his true calling with dance, but he has found his home. “Our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us” Romans 8:18
