Natasha Natraj

Natasha grew up in Portland, Oregon where she caught the theater bug early after her elementary school went to a production of Pippi Longstocking. She spent most of her childhood taking acting classes at the Oregon Children’s Theatre and Northwest Children’s Theater, later performing in professional plays in the Portland area as well as being cast in film and commercial work. She went to Arts and Communication Magnet Academy for high school where she participated in the Theatre, Dance and Vocal concentrations. She performed in the pre-professional dance company ‘Dance West’ for 3 years, working alongside the Oregon and Eugene Symphonies.

To study dance further, Natasha attended Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. She performed in numerous concert dance shows, participated in choreography workshops, and musicals including Sweet Charity and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. One of her favorite experiences at Otterbein was being able to choreograph RENT her senior year. Her dancing and artistry grew tremendously after studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance where she delved into ballet and Forsythe technique with amazing teachers Summer Lee Rhatigan, Christian Burns, and Alex Ketley.

Since moving to New York upon graduation in May 2016, Natasha starred in the official music video of the hit single Stranded by the popular French metal band Gojira. In Jan 2017, she sang in her first Cranky Cabaret. She has also performed and choreographed “The Inheritance of Loss” which has been shown at the Steps Foundation Performance Lab Series among choreographers such as James Kinney and Billy Griffin, as well as the NACHMO curated show at the Actors Fund Center and a part of Modarts Dance show ‘Collective Thread’ at Dixon place. This summer she is thrilled to be in the ensemble cast of Mary Poppins at Paper Mill Playhouse.
