Christian Mooney



Christian Mickeal Mooney, best known as “Mickeal” is a native of Washington, DC.  In 2005, he began his dance training in hip-hop.  As early as five years old, Mickeal knew that he wanted to be a dancer.  His elementary school teacher recognized his gift and asked him to join the ballroom dance team.  After Mickeal won the honor of First Place Ballroom Dancer, he decided that he wanted to broaden his dance skills by entering into local dance competitions.  At the age of 12, he joined Warr Dance Company, the only Commercial Dance Studio in the Washington Metropolitan area.  Under the training of Monica Warr, Mickeal learned various dance styles including Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, Classical, Ballet, Jazz and Tap.  He has trained with Monica Warr, Caroline Rocher, Danielle Polanco, Flo Master, Kanec, Phlex, Neo Lynch, Ebony Tye, JaRonThe Fame, Neil Schwartz, Jessica Castro, Sharron Lynn, Ashley Seldon, and Sequon Keys.  He has attended conventions all over the United States and singled out to showcase his talents in master classes for choreographers such as Shawn Cosby, Ian Eastwood, Dave Scott and Brian Friedman. Mickeal has also danced for the Black Alley Band, Jaron The Fame, Phil da Great and Christian Iman.  Mickeal currently is a student at Duke Ellington School of Arts in Washington, D.C.  He is studying ballet, African and modern dance.  In the summer of 2016, he studied ballet at the Dance Theater of Harlem.  Mickeal has received many accolades for his chorography.  While still in school, Mickael managed to travel to China to further his study in martial arts and was awarded a second degree black belt in Kung Fu.  Mickeal’s martial arts training contribute to his coordination, balance, agility, and passion for the love of dance.
