Kira Chu

Kira Chu started dancing on Long Island when she was just 2 years old!  She trained in many styles including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip- hop.  She recently made the transition to NYC where she has trained intensively with The Koin & Co Dancers under the direction of Ali Koinoglou and some of NYC’s finest choreographers.  She has performed with the Koin & Co Junior Company at many prestigious events and also in Derek Mitchell’s Flash Mobs around the city.  She also trains at Broadway Dance Center and Peridance Capezio expanding her training to include classes in Heels, Street Jazz, Musical Theatre, Contemporary Fusion, and Commercial Hip Hop.  She also trains with Ant Boogie’s “Urban Dance League”, “Dancers Are Athletes” which gives urban dancers a competitive challenge in their events.   She has traveled the country attending countless conventions! Many of the industry’s finest choreographers have recognized her during their classes and she has been honored with several scholarships. She credits her original hip- hop teachers, SamO Soto and Marcus Allan for giving her a strong foundation and the discipline to work hard for her dreams! Kira has performed all over the tri-state area as a back up dancer for You Tube sensation Jenna Rose and can be seen in Jenna’s on-line music videos.   Kira was recently honored to be accepted into AbraKT Beings, The Company, under the direction of Theresa Stone and looks forward to working with her.  Kira went to a dance audition for a music video for an “undisclosed star” and had to freestyle to get the job.  She was thrilled to find out that she booked it and it was for the superstar Jennifer Lopez!!  That was the most exciting day ever!  Kira’s words to live by are “The harder I work, the luckier I get!”
