Kira Chu was born and raised in Wantagh, New York.  As a baby, Kira loved watching her older sisters dance at Techniques Dance Studio.  She soon followed in their footsteps dancing in the Company and learning the basics of ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop.  When she was 10 years old she moved on to Jennifer Napolitano’s School of Performing Arts where she expanded her training to a more advanced level to include ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, contemporary, improv, and hip hop.  Competing with solos, duos and her JNPA Company group, The Fireworks, Kira has won many diamond, platinum, judges’ special awards, and 1st Place Trophies in the technical styles.  She credits her wonderful teachers, Jennifer Napolitano and Claudia Marinescu for her beautiful technique.  In the mean time, she was also developing her hip hop skills to the highest level as a member of the JNPA Crew with her incredible teachers and mentors SamO Soto and Marcus Allan Cobb.  She traveled the country attending countless conventions and was introduced to the commercial side of the dance world.  Many of the industry’s finest choreographers have recognized her during their classes and she has been honored with several scholarships. She especially thanks Tony Bellissimo from Tremaine for pushing her and believing in her!  She went to a dance audition for a music video for an “undisclosed star” and had to freestyle to get the job.  She was thrilled to find out that she booked it and it was for the superstar Jennifer Lopez!!  That was the most exciting day ever!  Kira’s words to live by are “The harder I work, the luckier I get!”
