Jordan Rafko

Jordan Rafko, born & raised in North Carolina, was put into dance classes at the age of four by her mother after many clumsy accidents to simply try & help her gain better coordination…It was right there, in her local studio, “Christine McConnell’s School of Dance”, that she not only found her balance, but her passion, and soon began to excel. She continued to study ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, & musical theater well into her teen years, with a strong focus on tap & jazz performance, as well as competing & winning numerous awards in various styles, including modern & pom with her high school dance team. However, it wasn’t until she started attending conventions like Monsters & NYCDA that she was introduced to styles such as street jazz & hip-hop, but she quickly fell in love.

Upon graduating high school, while still teaching at studios & traveling to take class at conventions across the US, she attended the Aveda Institute of Cosmetology where she further proved her love for all things artistic and became a licensed cosmetologist, focusing her talent on freelance hair & makeup art.

It wasn’t long after her big move to New York that she booked her first job, dancing alongside Channing Tatum on the Today Show. Some of Jordan’s most recent work includes assisting world-renowned choreographer Tanisha Scott with the Brooklyn Nets Kids Dance Team, being a member of the inaugural season of the “Brooklynettes”, & even assisting Coach/Choreographer Adar Wellington with a routine for Playoffs. Like most dancers, Michael Jackson will always be her biggest inspiration & influence in dance, but she says that she is blessed to have such mentors as Rhapsody James, Lisette Bustamante & Chonique Sneed, as well as huge artistic influences like Choreographer Marty Kudelka, Actresses Julie Andrews & Lucille Ball & Composer John Towner Williams.

Along with dancing, Jordan has enjoyed dabbling over the years in DJ assisting, from celebrity weddings to Nascar Events, face painting for various community events, & costume design/embellishment. She loves to travel, spend time with her close friends & family, & tries to mentor as much as she can to the younger generation through teaching in the hopes that they will follow their dreams with love in their heart, passion in their movement, & kindness & support for their fellow man in their actions. She truly believes in living by Gandhi’s famous words, “Be the change you wish to see in the world...
