Billy Cohen

Billy Cohen, hailing from outside Boston, started his hip hop training at the young age of six at Joanne Langione Dance Center with his identical twin brother, and continued his training at Hofstra University while receiving a B.S. Degree in Dance Education.  At Hofstra, he’s had the chance to work with artists such as Heather Waldon, Barbara Angeline, Fredrick Earl Mosley, Bill Young, Doug Varone, and David Parker.  Billy Cohen has also produced two works representing Hofstra at ACDA Conferences, as well as recently co-choreographed his own fully-produced dance show, “jux•ta•po•si•tion”.  Before graduating, Billy was the recipient of the school’s Male Dancer Scholarship, which gave him a full scholarship to train with Hofstra’s most notable Dance Department alumni, Larry Keigwin.  He recently was accepted into Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester, where he had the opportunity to train and perform choreography with many leading artists in the dance industry, including Derek Mitchel, Emily Greenwell, Candace Brown.  Billy has also had the opportunity to work closely with Teddy Forance, Noel Bajades, Jeff Lapes, Devin Jamieson, and Jen Hackworth through the Generation IV Dance Convention.  He was selected to be dancer and demonstrator for the “Dance for Kindness” event in NYC and starred in the commercial for the event, which was broadcasted on the billboards of Times Square.  Recently, Billy starred in a viral video called “Student Vs. Teacher Battle”, totaling over 20 million views on all social media platforms and appearing on multiple new networks, including a short segment on “Inside Edition”.  Outside of dance, Billy is major Boston sports fan, always routing for the Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox!  Billy hopes to have continuous success in the dance industry, and to someday travel the world doing what he loves best: creating, performing, and sharing his art form.
