Alysse Joyner

I was born in Boston, MA and at the age of  five I moved to the Bay Area of California.  I have been dancing since I was two years old.  At the age of 12, I joined the competition dance team at my local dance studio where I performed team, duets and solo numbers.  I also took part in a variety of dance conventions that were taught by chorographers from “So You Think You Can Dance”.  I was trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and tap.

As I got older, I missed family, friends and the East Coast so I went to college in Massachusetts.  I first attended Dean College in Franklin and then transferred during my Junior Year to University of Massachusetts in Amherst and received my BFA in dance.  While in college I studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Improvisation and African.  Also, I joined the hip hop dance team at Dean College and the dance team at U Mass where we performed Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop.  Although I love all forms of dance, I am extremely passionate about hip hop.

Besides performing, I have love modeling, photography, dj-ing, making/directing videos, swimming, drawing and hanging out with family and friends.

People who have influenced my career are Parris Goebel and Ysabelle Capitule.  They inspire me because they have their own style of choreography and they are just different compared to other dancers. They stand out and their style reminds me of myself.   Ysabelle is from the Bay Area, so I vibe with her style and Parris is from New Zealand and I have never seen such clever and creative choreography.  My favorite sayings are “Never give up. Great things take time” and “Everything happens for a reason.”

In the fall of 2017, I moved to New York City to pursue dance professionally.  Currently I am in the MMG Model Agency and now I am very excited to join the Bloc Talent Agency Family!
