Lipica Shah

Lipica was born in a small town in Indiana and raised in a small town in New Jersey, where for a decade she studied classical singing technique at Westminster Conservatory. But she’s been splashed head-to-toe in city puddle water by a taxi so she definitely considers herself a New Yorker now! Since graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, she has thrived on collaborative work on both stage and screen, with a passion for helping develop new works.

She made her Off-Broadway debut as the female lead in The New Group musical Bunty Berman Presents… and has appeared on stages across New York (The New Ohio, The Clurman, The Drama League, HERE Arts Center, among others) and regionally (Mixed Blood Theatre in Minneapolis, Chester Theatre Company in the Berkshires, The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Connecticut, among others). She can also be found on the big screen, with roles in the films Arbitrage, Admission, and the indie Let’s Be Out, The Sun Is Shining (for which she received a Best Actress nomination at the New York Indian Film Festival), and television shows American Odyssey, HAPPYish,The Following,Person of Interest,White Collar, Pokémon, and Onion SportsDome. She recently wrapped a six-month shoot for a recurring guest star role on an international educational web series, and is currently recording a lead voice in a new but as-yet-unannounced cartoon.

Lipica has a soft spot for sassy (on the verge of neurotic) characters, really enjoys playing “the gorgeous little psychopath,” and would someday like to star in a Sharktopus-esque sci-fi film. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking (and eating), crossword puzzles, anything involving dark chocolate, and running outdoors- come cheer her on in the NYC Marathon this November!!
