David Winning.

David Winning has explored a wide-range of entertainment venues throughout his career. After graduating from high school in 1990, he spent a year traveling around the world, performing with an international cast as part of Up With People.

Upon returning to the United States, David pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Teaching at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. During his studies, he continued to sing and perform with a gospel choir (Black Awakening Choir) on campus.

After graduating in 1997, David entered his next phase of ‘entertainment' – teaching 4th and 5th graders for five years. He was often recruited for school talent shows and learned quickly that improv skills were critical to keep learning fun and exciting for his students.

With the birth of his daughter in 2002, David started on the path of his most current entertainment pursuits – acting. While performing the role of stay-at-home dad, he began auditioning for some local theater shows and worked his way up to lead roles (Christian de Neuvillette in Cyrano de Bergerac and Jerry Lewkowski in The Full Monty).

Although David loved the energy of live theater, he was eager to explore the realm of film and landed roles in several independent films: Liar’s Pendulum, The Crimson Mask, Changing the Game, New York, His Naked Mind, and Black Parables.

In his spare time, David enjoys reading Harry Potter with his daughter and doing home-improvement projects.
