Carlos Encinias

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, studied Theatre in Utah at BYU, and has been living and working in New York City since 2000. Carlos' directing and choreography credits include ALTAR BOYZ (Pittsburgh CLO, North Carolina Theatre, Gateway Playhouse and Westchester Broadway Theatre), WEST SIDE STORY and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Gateway Playhouse) and he also choreographed the Jarkarta production of PHANTOM. Other credits include associate director/choreographer of NEXT TO NORMAL and ALTAR BOYZ at the Adirondack Theatre Festival’s, the DC premiere of ALTAR BOYZ and BIG RIVER at the Tuachan Amphitheater. He is currently artistic director of Take it From the Top Arts Alliance and has taught and choreographed for the Broadway Dreams Foundations, Red Mountain Theatre Company, Scera Theatre, New York Musical Theatre Festival and  the New Mexico Ballet Company. As an actor, Carlos made his Broadway debut in MAMMA MIA and then left to act in and supervise the Broadway production of GOOD VIBRATIONS, a musical based on the Beach Boys music. Carlos spent some time off-Broadway in the award winning, ALTAR BOYZ, where he was dance captain and standby for the show. He was also seen in LES MISERABLES and SCANDALOUS on Broadway.
